Co-Parenting Course
Welcome to our co-parenting class, designed to support parents navigating the challenges of raising children after separation or divorce. Our curriculum is grounded in two transformative resources: An Unexpected Journey by Alisa Jaffe Holleron and BIFF by Bill Eddy.
About the Class
Our program recognizes that co-parenting after divorce is often an unexpected and difficult journey. Drawing from An Unexpected Journey, we focus on helping parents understand and manage the intense emotions that can arise during this time. The course provides practical tools for moving from states of anger, frustration, and fear into a place of clarity, power, and wisdom—so you can make decisions that truly benefit your children and yourself.
Key topics include:
- Mindful awareness and emotional regulation
- Distinguishing what you can and cannot control
- Fostering security and belonging for your children
- Developing healthy patterns and breaking negative cycles
Communication Skills
We also incorporate the BIFF method by Bill Eddy, which teaches effective communication strategies for high-conflict situations. BIFF stands for Brief, Informative, Friendly, and Firm—essential skills for reducing conflict and maintaining productive, respectful communication with your co-parent.
What We Offer
- Guidance on emotional awareness and regulation, empowering you to make decisions that benefit your children and yourself.
- Tools for fostering security and positive patterns for your family.
- Instruction in the BIFF method—Brief, Informative, Friendly, and Firm communication—to reduce conflict and promote respectful, productive interactions.
- A dedicated session on Communication Tools, covering best practices for email, text, phone calls, setting boundaries, and maintaining child-focused exchanges.
The Importance of Active Participation
For co-parenting to be truly effective, it is essential that both parents actively participate in the process. When both parties are engaged, children benefit from increased consistency, open communication, and a unified approach to parenting. Active participation from both parents helps create a stable, supportive environment, strengthens family bonds, and models healthy collaboration for your children. This collaborative effort not only reduces conflict and stress but also ensures that your children feel secure and supported as they adjust to new family dynamics.
Our goal is to equip you with both the emotional insight and practical skills needed for a healthier, more peaceful co-parenting relationship. Join us to gain the confidence and tools to build a positive future for your family.
Our Goal
Our goal is to empower you to navigate co-parenting with confidence, compassion, and resilience. By combining emotional awareness with practical communication tools, you’ll be better equipped to create a positive environment for your children and a more peaceful co-parenting relationship.
